What Education Do I Need to Become a Sports Agent?
Because it's mostly an entrepreneurial profession, there is no standardized educational path for sports agents or a specific degree you can earn to become one. Some sports agents have a background in business, while others may have a background in athletics. Although there is no one perfect degree path, it could be helpful to have a bachelor's degree in business, sports administration or sports and recreation management.
Programs in sports administration are multidisciplinary and mix concepts from accounting, business administration, communications, marketing, law and event management. Sports and recreation management programs cover many of the same business topics, but are more oriented towards activities and the leisure services industry. Some have concentrations in facilities management or coaching.
