What You Need to Know

Students interested in earning a degree in music near Orlando, FL, may choose between a pre-major associate's degree, bachelor's degree, or master's degree programs. The pre-major program in music performance is a two-year program that includes completion of the general education credits normally associated with an associate's degree, but because of the competitiveness of music performance programs, does not guarantee admission to a baccalaureate program. At least three bachelor's degree programs are available in the area, requiring about four years to complete. Students already holding a bachelor's degree may be interested in earning a two-year master's degree; graduate students studying music must produce a thesis or final recital performance prior to graduating.
