A handful of public universities throughout Ohio offer a 3-year professional Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program. Before applying to a DPT program, you'll need to complete a bachelor's program that includes specific courses in science, physiology and other relevant subjects. Your DPT classes include physical therapy theory, anatomy and therapeutic exercise, and significant emphasis is placed on gaining clinical skills. After completing your training, you'll be eligible for licensure as a physical therapist in Ohio.

Cleveland State University

The Cleveland State University Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program prepares you for entry into a physical therapist career. This program combines practical and theoretical knowledge in physical therapy to train you to work with patients. The courses in the 3-year program include anatomy, physical therapy interactions, pharmacotherapeutics, physical therapy theory and applied physical therapy. This program is completed over nine consecutive semesters, including the summers.
