Overview of International Law Training Online

There are no international law degree programs available online in the United States. The American Bar Association (ABA), the accrediting agency for U.S. law schools, does not recommend any online law degree programs, regardless of specialty, due to the intensity of legal curricula.

The American Society of International Law (ASIL) does offer some international law education options online for legal and non-legal professionals. Lawyers seeking continuing legal education may be able to stream live events, attend webinars or view recorded courses posted online. They usually complete some type of evaluation to receive credit. ASIL also has judicial education and public education initiatives. Additionally, ASIL provides a database of news articles and documents spanning the range of international law topics. Professional articles are available from the American Journal of International Law and the International Legal Materials publications.
