Pennsylvania State University - Harrisburg
Penn State's Harrisburg campus offers a Bachelor of Science program in mechanical engineering technology (MET) that's accredited by ABET's Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission (ETAC). Students in this program gain hands-on training in MET while learning about sound scientific and engineering principles. Additionally, they build oral and written technical communication skills and explore the technologist's responsibilities from ethical and societal viewpoints. This program also is offered at PSU's Behrend campus in Erie.
Also accredited by the ETAC, Purdue University's bachelor's program in mechanical engineering technology offers students the opportunity to specialize in green manufacturing, nano/micro-manufacturing, robotics or sustainable energy. At Purdue's West Lafayette, IN, campus, MET students learn to handle machines and manufacturing resources while managing people who use them. Classes cover computational analysis tools, materials and processes, and design thinking in technology. Students also complete courses in fluid power, industrial controls, visual programming and technical writing.

University of Houston
The Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology program at the University of Houston provides courses in computer aided design, drafting, manufacturing and materials technology. Housed within the College of Technology, the program teaches students about manufacturing planning and management, quality control, robotics and automated manufacturing systems. Students also learn to design, produce and develop mechanical designs. This program is accredited by the ETAC.
