Cleveland Institute of Electronics

Cleveland Institute of Electronics offers a distance learning computer technician accredited diploma program, which prepares students for CompTIA A+ certification. The entire program is available through distance learning. Students receive course material in the mail, study at their own pace and take exams online.

CompTIA A+ certification is a voluntary certificate offered by the non-profit trade association Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) after completion of two exams. The program's 33 lessons address such areas as operating systems, networking, computer parts and tools, network connection and set-up, PC maintenance, Windows installation and printer support.

Camden County College

Like the above diploma program, Camden County College offers a short program that prepares students for the CompTIA A+ certification exam. The program is made up of two modules reflecting the two CompTIA A+ exams required to obtain certification. This 320-hour program is taken entirely online. Students could expect to learn how to troubleshoot, repair, install, upgrade and configure computer hardware components.

Lincoln Tech

With an online Associate of Science degree in Network Communications and Information Systems (NCIS) from Lincoln Tech, students will possess the qualifications they need to become computer or information technicians. The program has a concentration in working with Microsoft systems, but students also receive training in hardware, software, desktop operating systems and related applications.
