The Bachelor of Science in Business with a concentration* in Public Sector program is designed to teach students the effective use of public resources to achieve the public purpose within a state, local, or not for profit environment. The program is intended to teach you how to lead in an ethical manner, learning techniques for effectively managing change,, finances and operations. What's more, the program is designed to build students' critical-thinking and decision-making skills as well as provide them with a foundation in budgeting, financial reporting, economics, marketing and public relations. Applicants to University of Phoenix® programs should have a high school diploma or GED. If you're interested in this program, you may have an interest in helping your community or working for a philanthropic organization. You may have leadership experience and possess good communication skills.
This bachelor's degree program requires the completion of 48 business credits, 15 public sector credits and 57 general education credits, totaling 120 (124 for Kansas) credit hours. Within the public sector concentration, you will have the opportunity to elect a not-for-profit or public administration specialization.
