ASP Certificate Programs
With training in ASP.NET, Microsoft's application framework, you can work with the Internet and provide applications for mobile devices using Visual Studio .NET. Read about what you'd learn in a .NET development certificate program and how to get certified after completing the program.
What Programs Are Available to Learn ASP?
Active server pages (ASP) are a part of the Microsoft ASP.NET application for creating websites. Many of these programs look at ASP.NET framework using the C# programming language. Using ASP.NET to create websites allows you to work beyond script languages and provides rich, complex applications for websites. These websites then become more secure and easier to maintain, and they provide language-crossing applications and server-side technology websites that require fewer codes and replace dead processes.
One type of program offered by colleges is a professional certificate program in .NET development. This program could work well for you if you have background knowledge in programming languages and web development. You'll also be ahead of others if you're familiar with the classic .NET framework. These training programs provide hands-on training with the design, development and maintenance of web applications. Because of the need for hands-on experience, online programs are basically nonexistent.

What Will I Study?
This program often includes education in the structured query language (SQL). This is a programming language that is often used to design data-driven websites and develop 3-tier system architecture. You'll study the basics of this application developing framework with courses in ASP.NET and .NET basics. Here, you'll explore the C# language, as well as learning Microsoft development tools and exploring various design processes.
You'll study programming languages, web applications and object analysis. Along with some of these basic courses, you'll study data access and storage and authentications for security measures. You'll also take courses in Microsoft Visual Studio .NET, visual basics and component assembly.
How Do I Earn Certification?
Microsoft offers certification for ASP.NET. Two of the exams you'll take are the Microsoft .NET Framework - Application Development Foundation exam and the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5, ASP.NET Application Development exam. These two exams focus on the programming with C#, using the ECMAScript, monitoring web applications, managing page life-cycles and configuring the ASP.NET framework. After passing both exams, you'll earn the Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) credential for these specific ASP.NET technologies.
