At What Level Are Courses Offered?

Baking and pastry arts courses are available at the undergraduate level, through certificate, associate's degree and bachelor's degree programs. However, online baking and pastry arts courses are generally only offered through bachelor's degree programs, to people who have previously completed at least an associate's degree in culinary or pastry arts. Online courses in a bachelor's degree completion program generally focus on the business aspect of this field; you are expected to gain hands-on training in baking and pastry arts through your associate's degree program. In campus-based courses, you have the opportunity to use kitchens and labs to prepare pastries and desserts for your classmates.

How Do the Courses Work?

If you are completing online courses, you can access them anywhere you have an Internet connection. Lessons are available online in video or audio format and can be reviewed as often as you like.
