About Webspiration Classroom

Webspiration Classroom was developed by Inspiration Software, Inc., a company that has been around for over a quarter of a century. One of its latest ventures is the Webspiration Classroom program, which is designed for 5-12th graders. This Internet-driven tool is available to educators and schools and can be purchased through specialized subscriptions that run 1-3 years. The program has been received well, and in early 2011 the The ComputED Gazette issued a Best Educational Software Award to Webspiration Classroom under the 'high school thinking skills website' category.

How Does the Program Work?

Webspiration Classroom provides a way for students to more easily visualize and organize their thoughts. This specialized cloud collaboration tool is designed to improve analytical and teambuilding skills. It allows students to document ideas that can be developed into bubble diagrams and text outlines. All work is saved on the site and as a single document. When students have completed their assignments, they can submit their work online or transfer it to Microsoft Word or Google Docs.

Peer-to-Peer Cloud Collaboration

This open forum allows students to work with each other or on their own. The program can not only be used in the classroom, students can log-in anywhere there is an Internet connection without the need to download programming or startup files. They can share their assignments with other pupils as well as ask their classmates for reviews or helpful suggestions. The site also has interactive chat and messaging options.

Student-to-Teacher Collaboration

Student revisions are immediate, so when they submit their work for teacher review, educators can post their comments quickly. Changes can be tracked by user, and older formats can be resurfaced if needed. What's more, assignments can be easily integrated into classroom teachings and can be transferred to blogs or Web pages for wider usage. Teachers also have access to instructional guides and lesson plan templates to improve the learning process.
