What Information Assurance Degrees Are Available?

Information assurance degrees are available at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Undergraduate certificate programs trains you in the fundamental skills to assess and prevent cyber threats and may be completed in conjunction with bachelor's programs. Information assurance bachelor's programs introduce you to the technology and applications used to protect information technology systems from cyber threats. Bachelor's programs typically also include general education requirements and an internship.

Graduate certificate and master's degree programs typically require you to hold a bachelor's degree, preferably in computer science or a related field. Graduate programs focus on advanced principles in computer science and data security. Master's degree programs may also require you to complete a thesis, capstone project or case study as part of your graduation requirements.
