What Can I Expect in This Position?

According to the BLS, most insurance adjusters work for health insurance companies or in areas that experience the highest levels of natural disasters. As an adjuster, you can expect to investigate claims by collecting data related to a claim or interviewing those with first-hand knowledge related to claims. During this process, you'll also work with experts who evaluate the damage or authenticity of claims, such as doctors, accountants or engineers. If an insurance claim involves litigation, you may be expected to testify about an individuals' insurability or how you arrived at a conclusion to pay or deny it a claim.
