Pima Community College

Pima Community College offers you two options for studying interior design. In the Associate of Applied Science program, you can pursue a technical interior design curriculum with additional technical courses that aren't offered through the school's Associate of Arts interior design program, including color and lighting, survey of interior architecture, business and professional interior design and environmental design. You would also take a course in portfolio development, which could help as you pursue employment opportunities in the field.

The Associate of Arts program offers you a number of interior design, space-planning, communications, architecture, textiles, history and CAD course topics in addition to supplemental drawing and art classes. Courses unique to this interior design program include several general education courses, as well as studies in drawing, economics and psychology. You may also use the Associate of Arts degree to transfer to a 4-year program outside the Tucson, Arizona, area.
