What Courses Will I Take if I Major in Marketing and Sales?
At the bachelor's degree level, marketing and sales is generally offered as a concentration in a business degree. You'll need to complete a core business curriculum, which includes courses on accounting, business communication, public speaking, business law, ethics and economics. Your sales and marketing concentration will teach you the principles of selling, business sales, sales management, brand identity, market research, advertising and consumer behavior.
In a sales management course, you'll learn how to manage accounts, resources and sales representatives from global, legal and ethical standpoints. A course in basic selling techniques and strategies might take both a theoretical and practical approach to selling products and services. Course topics might include prospecting, sales presentations, closings and consumer demand. A business sales course will teach you how to sell products and services to businesses, as well as covering the differences and similarities between business and consumer sales.
