To be admitted into a certificate program in computed tomography (CT), you must have at least an associate's degree in radiologic technology or medical imaging and be certified by or eligible for certification by the ARRT (The American Registry of Radiologic Technicians). You must also be certified to give CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and undergo a background check. Certain immunizations are required, including Hepatitis B, and you must either be immunized for chickenpox or show that you've had it. It is also required that you pass a drug test.

How Do Online Programs Work?

Some schools have on-campus requirements, where you will complete certain labs or earn a portion of your clinical credits. For some programs, online classes are at scheduled times, at which you must be available for to participate in class discussions and Internet-based class activities.

What Topics Will I Study?

  • Computed tomography equipment
  • Patient management
  • Safety in CT
  • Medical imaging of sectional anatomy
  • CT protocols and application information
