Using an online platform, such as Blackboard, you will watch lectures, communicate with professors and participate in discussion boards with fellow students. You will also receive assignments and complete exams entirely online. You will need access to a computer with high-speed Internet access in order to utilize the technology.

What Can I Do With This Degree?

This degree will prepare you to become a business teacher at numerous types of schools, including junior high schools, high schools, technical colleges and community colleges; in this role, you will teach students about various business topics. You or your classmates may instead work in a business setting as a trainer or coach. You may also use this degree to strengthen your leadership skills if you are a teacher in another discipline.

Are There Any Prerequisites?

In order to be accepted into a master's program, you will first need to possess a bachelor's degree; some programs will require an undergraduate degree in business, marketing or a related field. In many cases, these programs are intended for experienced teachers and you will need to have earned your teaching certification before applying; other programs cater more broadly to students interested in varying types of training, thereby making certification less relevant. Some master's programs will ask you to provide evidence of prior professional business teaching experience. You will also need to submit your scores from the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or Miller Analogies Test (MAT).
