Prince George Community College offers a paralegal/legal assistant program aimed at candidates interested in upgrading their skills or seeking advancement in their career. In the program, in addition to taking courses in criminal evidence and procedure, legal writing and documents, criminal law and civil litigation, you complete an internship. The school also offers a paralegal associate's degree program. If you decide to pursue this degree, credits from the certificate program can transfer and be applied to the associate degree credit hour requirement.

Georgetown University

This program is offered in three formats: a 1-year, part-time evening program, a 14-week, full-time summer program and as various paralegal courses offered through the school's continuing education division. The summer program runs five days per week for ten weeks, after which you complete a 4-week externship. The evening program (which is held three nights a week) consists of three semesters of study, each 15 weeks in duration. Georgetown University offers the only American Bar Association-approved paralegal program in the District of Columbia.
