Central Georgia Technical College

The phlebotomy technician program includes two classes in phlebotomy - venipuncture introduction and clinical practice. Topics covered in the venipuncture class include profiles of lab tests, venipuncture problems, isolation techniques, safety, venipuncture procedure, specimen processing, skin punctures, malpractice and ethics. The clinical practice class provides you with hands-on experience in venipuncture techniques, including collecting from newborns, children and adults.
