What Will I Learn?
Microsoft SQL certificate programs provide you with knowledge of Microsoft products as well as train you in the Transact-SQL program language. In these programs, you can learn how to install and configure current SQL Servers. You can also learn how to create databases and backups, use Service Broker and restore points in a database. Programs can also teach you how to implement database codes, functions, views and stored procedures.
An Oracle certificate program can train you in current Oracle databases. These programs teach you the SQL fundamentals and administrative duties needed to install and manage these databases. Other course topics cover the database architecture, back-up, recovery, monitoring and security measures used to maintain them.
What are the Technical Requirements?
Most certificate coursework can be completed entirely online. However, some programs require students to attend on-campus lab sessions once a week. You will need a high-speed Internet connection operating on an updated Web browser to access course content. You may also need multimedia plug-ins such as Adobe Acrobat Reader or Flash Player.
What Kinds of Certifications Will This Prepare Me For?
Students proficient in Microsoft SQL can pursue the Microsoft Technology Associate, Microsoft Certified Solution Associate or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert credentials. A series of exams need to be passed in order to qualify for any of these certifications. If you have education and experience with Oracle databases, you can become a Certified Associate, Professional or Master. Passing one of these written exams can help demonstrate your expertise in the areas of database development or maintenance to future clients and employers.
