Schools that Offer Gunsmithing Courses Online
Ashworth College is one of several well-known schools that offer distance education courses in gunsmithing. Ashworth offers a diploma program that takes about four months to complete. Additionally, enrolling in their program includes a one-year membership to the Gun Club of America. Ashworth's program includes 16 lessons.
Penn Foster Career School's online gunsmithing diploma program prepares students to become entrepreneurs or work in established firearm shops. The program covers topics ranging from mounting stocks to making customized ammunition. Penn Foster's program is taught by certified gunsmiths and can be completed in four months.
The Sonoran Desert Institute offers an Associate of Science degree in firearms technology and a certificate in gunsmithing in a distance format. The associate's degree program requires 60 credit hours worth of work, 45 of which are specific to firearms technology, including the maintenance and care of firearms.
