Go to the prom swathed in duct tape, and you and your date could each win a $10,000 scholarship, as well as $5,000 for your high school, from Duck Brand. The Stuck at Prom winning couple is chosen based on a photographic entry, and applicants must send their outfits to contest headquarters for authentication. And no, the outfits are not returned.

Klingon Speakers Welcome

You don't have to speak Klingon, but it helps if you want to increase your chances of winning a $500 scholarship from the Klingon Language Institute. The institute's Kor Memorial Scholarship was established to encourage the study of language. A creative and innovative approach to language study is also a plus. This scholarship is awarded annually to an undergraduate or graduate student.

Calling All Ducks

The Chick and Sophie Major Memorial Duck Calling Contest is open to any duck-calling high school senior throughout the country. Top prize in the 2014 contest was a $2,000 scholarship, which went to the caller who excelled at hail, feed, comeback and mating calls, all within 90 seconds. A $1,000 scholarship went to the second-place winner, while the third- and fourth-place winners received $750 and $500 scholarships, respectively. Please note that scholarship amounts fluctuate year to year based on fundraising efforts.

Trivia Buffs

If you love playing trivia games, consider applying for one of the scholarships offered by the Common Knowledge Scholarship Foundation. To apply, simply log on to their website and take some of the current quizzes. Quizzes are available in general categories, such as common knowledge, and in specific academic subjects. Prizes are awarded to the top scorers on each quiz and range in amount from $250-$2,500.
