About Veterinary Technician Certificate Programs

A veterinary technician certificate program should be approved by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) or the veterinary licensing board for the state the student wishes to practice. In these programs, students take introductory classes to veterinary technology, physiology and anatomy. Students may also learn how to assist with dental procedures and surgeries or perform veterinary pharmacy and laboratory procedures.
