California University of Pennsylvania
California University of Pennsylvania (Cal U) is a public school in western Pennsylvania that offers relevant programs in fitness studies at the undergraduate, graduate and doctorate level, in addition to certificates. In these programs, students will have the flexibility to complete coursework when they have time. Cal U is fully accredited by the Middle States Association and its online fitness programs are approved by the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education Board of Governors.
Bachelor of Science in Sport Management Studies: Wellness and Fitness Track
Students who choose the online wellness and fitness track within the sports management bachelor's degree program take courses in fitness, business, personal training, sport performance and wellness. While students usually complete the program in three years, Cal U also offers a two-year sequence for applicants who already hold an associate's degree. After completing all required coursework and passing relevant exams, students receive their personal training certifications through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). The program prepares graduates for employment in fitness and wellness settings such as gyms, sports clubs and school athletic departments.
Master of Science in Exercise Science and Health Promotion
The online exercise science master's degree programs at Cal U were developed in collaboration with NASM with the purpose of enhancing the professional knowledge of athletic trainers, exercise physiologists, physical therapists, coaches and physical education teachers. The four available tracks of study are performance enhancement and injury prevention, fitness and wellness, rehabilitation sciences and sports psychology.
Post-Master's Degree Certificates
Cal U offers web-based post-master's degree certificates in performance enhancement, fitness and wellness and rehabilitation science. While each certificate is distinct in its focus and course requirements, all three are designed specifically to prepare students to pass NASM professional certification examinations. Students must pass four courses to earn post-master's degree certificates.

Tennessee Tech University
Tennessee Tech University offers an online Master of Arts in Exercise Science, Physical Education and Wellness degree program in several concentrations. These specific areas of study include sport management, fitness and wellness, adapted physical education and elementary and secondary school physical education. The only time students will be required to go on campus for this degree program is a one-day orientation and for final exams.
