There are two pre-physical therapy programs offered by public schools - a 2-year associate's degree program and a 4-year bachelor's degree program. These programs cover the prerequisite courses needed to apply to the professional Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program offered by the University of Utah. The DPT program requires a bachelor's degree, related experience, a minimum GPA, prerequisite coursework, CPR and first aid training, an essay, recommendations and an interview. Doctoral students complete an internship and final project. This program also prepares graduates for the professional licensing exam needed for employment. Pre-Physical Therapy Programs in Utah

Snow College

The curriculum in this associate's degree program includes all the classes required to apply to the University of Utah's DPT program. You'll take courses in biology, anatomy, physiology, chemistry, calculus, first aid, physics and applied statistics. The AS program includes two labs and a scientific inquiry class, while the AA program requires you to take foreign language classes and one lab.

The Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) is a professional program that prepares you for the physical therapist licensing exam. The program also includes an internship, optional clinical experiences, a doctoral seminar and a doctoral project.
