Formerly Florida Hospital College, Adventist University of Health Sciences offers a Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Sciences that students may complete online. The program provides students with the knowledge of radiologic and imaging technology they will need to become a licensed technician. In addition to covering the technological aspects of the field, students also learn about patient care, anatomy and ethical considerations in healthcare. Specific course topics include sectional anatomy, mammography principles, MRI and CT pathology and physical principles of MRI and CT instrumentation.

Midwestern State University

Midwestern State University, in Wichita Falls, TX, offers a Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Science (BSRS) degree that can be completed through distance education. This program is designed for radiology professionals with some work experience who would like to advance their careers. All of the coursework in this program is available online and is based on textbooks that are typically used in radiology programs. Courses will address radiation therapy, radiobiology, bone densitometry, quality control and improvement in diagnostic imaging, medical ultrasound and pathophysiology. Students of the Radiologic Technology program at Southeast Community College will have the opportunity to combine online classes with on-site practical experiences at approved clinics and other health care settings. Course topics will include patient care management, diagnostic imaging theory and concepts, radiation biology and pathophysiology. The clinical portion of the program allows students to perform actual imagining tests such as exams of the chest, abdomen and GI system as well as CT scans and contrast procedures. Students will be prepared to take national certification exams and pursue licensure after graduation.
