BSN to MSN Online Programs in Florida

AdventHealth University

The MSN program at AdventHealth University is open to registered nurses who hold a BSN, as well as those who hold an ADN (Associate's Degree in Nursing; some bridge courses may be required). The program is offered entirely online, allowing students to work at their convenience, and offers specializations in nursing education, family nurse practitioner, and nursing administration and leadership.

Barry University

Barry University's MSN program typically requires applicants to hold a BSN, but registered nurses with a bachelor's degree are accepted on a case-by-case basis. The MSN program is built for working nurses, offering once-per-week or weekend classes over three years, and allows students to choose a concentration in family nurse practice nurse practitioner or adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner.

Florida Gulf Coast University

The nurse educator concentration MSN program at Florida Gulf Coast University is available to registered nurses who hold an Associate's Degree in Nursing. If associate's degree prerequisites are met, students will complete 22 credits of undergraduate bridge courses followed by 38 credit hours of graduate courses, which include advanced practice, leadership, and nurse educator topics.

Jacksonville University

Nurses who hold an ADN or nursing diploma can earn both their BSN and MSN through Jacksonville University's RN-to-MSN program, which awards both degrees when all requirements have been accomplished. The MSN program consists of clinical practice and online courses, 141 or 144 credits, and offers concentrations in leadership in healthcare systems, clinical nurse educator, and informatics.

Nova Southeastern University

The MSN program at Nova Southeastern University is available to registered nurses with a bachelor's degree upon successful completion of a bridge course. The MSN program can be customized based on student career interests in one of the following concentration areas: nursing informatics, nursing education, executive nurse leadership, adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner, family nurse practitioner, or psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner.

Palm Beach Atlantic University

Palm Beach Atlantic University offers an MSN program to registered nurses who hold an Associate of Arts, ADN, or bachelor's degree in a field other than nursing. The program takes five to seven semesters, depending on the previous degree earned, and includes classes on leadership, human pathophysiology, and healthcare for vulnerable populations.

The University of Tampa

The University of Tampa has an MSN program available to RNs who have a bachelor's degree in a non-nursing field, which consists of a four-course bridge component followed by 42 to 49 credit hours. The MSN program can be focused in either adult/gerontology nurse practitioner or family nurse practitioner, and contains three to four clinical practicums in specialty and primary healthcare facilities.

University of Central Florida

The University of Central Florida has an MSN program which may be completed primarily online and can be specialized in nurse educator, nursing and healthcare simulation, adult/gerontology clinical nurse specialist, or nursing leadership and management. Registered nurses who hold an Associate of Science in Nursing can enter the program, completing nine credit hours of undergraduate bridge credits prior to starting their graduate courses.

University of South Florida - Main Campus

Registered nurses who hold a bachelor's degree in a field other than nursing can enter the MSN program at the University of South Florida. Upon acceptance, students will complete 15 to 18 credit hours of bridge courses, followed by the graduate-level courses from one of the following concentration areas: nursing education, pediatric health nursing, occupational health nursing/adult-gerontology primary care nursing, family health nursing, adult-gerontology acute care, and adult-gerontology primary care.
