BSN to MSN Programs in Georgia

There are several schools in Georgia that offer a BSN to MSN program. These programs allow nurses who hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing to advance their education by earning a Master of Science in Nursing. Read more below. Emory University

Emory University offers an MSN program to nurses with a BSN that can be specialized in one of the following areas: Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner, Emergency Nurse Practitioner, Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, Nurse-Midwifery, Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Women's Health Nurse Practitioner, and Women's Health Care (Title X). In addition, Emory offers an accelerated BSN and MSN completion track, and tracks for a dual degree in either Nursing and Bioethics (MSN/MA) or Nursing and Public Health (MSN/MPH).

Georgia College & State University

Georgia College & State University has a primarily online MSN program for nurses who hold a BSN, which allows students to choose from several concentrations based on their career interests and can be completed in 6-9 semesters. Students can choose one of the following concentration areas within their MSN program: Family Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Women's Health Nurse Practitioner, or Nurse Educator.

Georgia Southern University

At Georgia Southern University, nurses who hold a BSN can complete an MSN program in one to two years through online courses and clinical hours at approved facilities. Students can choose the Chronic Care Management concentration, which takes around one year and consists of 270 clinical hours, or the Nursing Education concentration, which takes around two years and requires 320 clinical hours.

Georgia Southwestern State University

Georgia Southwestern State University's MSN program can be completed completely online in 22 months and is available to nurses who hold a BSN. The four MSN concentration options are Nursing Education, Nursing Informatics, Nursing Leadership/Management, and Family Nurse Practitioner.

Georgia State University

Georgia State University offers its MSN program to nurses with a BSN who have completed an MAT or GRE entrance exam and have acquired at least one year of work experience. The MSN can be specialized in Family Nurse Practitioner, Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.

Kennesaw State University

Kennesaw State University has a two-year MSN program available to nurses with different career interests and backgrounds, although all concentrations require applicants to hold a BSN with an undergraduate GPA of 3.0. The MSN can be specialized in one of three areas: Nursing Education Leadership in a Digital World, Nursing Administration and Transformational Leadership, or Primary Care Nurse Practitioner.

Mercer University

Mercer University has an MSN program with an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner specialty available to licensed nurses who hold a BSN. The program can be completed in two years and prepares graduates for work with adult populations as nurse practitioners.

Middle Georgia State University

Middle Georgia State University's MSN program is delivered primarily online, with once-per-semester, two-day sessions and 630 hours of clinical practice. The MSN program can be completed in two years and has an Adult/Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner concentration, preparing graduates for work with adult populations.

Thomas University

Registered nurses can complete a Master of Science in Nursing through Thomas University if they have a BSN with an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 on their last 60 credit hours. Thomas University's program is completed through online instruction with on-campus meetings once per month over two years.

Valdosta State University

Valdosta State University's MSN program is delivered through a hybrid format and seeks to prepare graduates for successful nurse practitioner careers. Valdosta's MSN program can be specialized in Family Nurse Practitioner, Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, or Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner.
