University at Albany, SUNY (State University of New York)
Ranked as one of the top public schools in the Northeast, Albany's School of Education has a Master of Science in Educational Policy and Leadership degree program as well as a Master of Art in International Education Management and Leadership. Within the educational policy and leadership degree option are three concentrations: educational policy, global and comparative educational policy, and school leadership.
St. John Fisher College
The Master of Science in Educational Leadership degree at Rochester's SJF College is available as one of two options, a school building leader or school building and school district leader degree. The 32-credit hour blended-learning format can be completed in 15-months and meets on Fridays and some Saturdays.
Niagara University
NU offers a Master of Science in Educational Leadership program and a Master of Science in International Educational Leadership program. Both programs are offered in a synchronous online format with Monday-Thursday class meeting times. The MS in Educational Leadership leads to certification in New York State and has concentrations in school building leader and school district leader.
Hofstra University
The Master of Science in Education in Higher Education Leadership and Policy Studies is a 36-credit hour interdisciplinary program. Students can complete the program fully online, on-campus in Hempstead, or in a hybrid blended-learning format.
Fordham University
Fordham's Master of Science in Education Church and Non-Public Educational Leadership degree program is available online and at the Lincoln Center and Westchester campuses. The program has two specializations: school building leadership (which leads to NY State SBL certification) and administration and supervision.
Columbia University
The Teacher's College at Columbia has a one-year master's program that culminates in a Master of Arts in Private School Leadership degree, and there is an option to add another year for the dual MA/MBA (Master of Business Administration) degree. Students in the dual-degree program have access to INSEAD - an international business school - and the opportunity to study abroad in France or Singapore.
St. Lawrence University
Formerly titled the Master of Education in Educational Leadership, the Master of Arts in Leadership degree program at SLU is available on-campus in Canton. The program requires the completion of four theory and research courses with the remaining 33 credit hours available to complete as elective courses.
Pace University
Pace University's Master of Science in Education in Educational Leadership School District Business Leader program is a 36-credit hour hybrid program providing online learning and on-campus classes at the Westchester location. The five-semester program also includes a 600-hour internship to help prepare graduates to successfully complete the New York State SDBL Certification Examination.
St. Bonaventure University
SBU provides professionals that already hold a teacher or school counselor certification along with a master's in education (or certification-related field) a Master of Education in Educational Leadership degree program with a school building leader or school district leader specialization. The 30-credit hour MSEd in Educational Leadership program is delivered in a hybrid format providing online classes and in-person Saturday classes at the SBU Buffalo Center or Hamburg campuses.
New York University
The Steinhardt School at NYU provides students and professionals with a 36-credit hour Master of Arts in Educational Leadership, Politics, and Advocacy degree program. The full or part-time program involves an internship with one of the 50 not-for-profit and non-governmental organizations partnered with the university, and full-time enrolled students can complete the program in three semesters.
