Master's degree programs in information technology that do not require the GRE are usually offered as Master of Science (MS) degrees and may require around 36 credits. Some of these degree programs may be completed in an online format and/or may offer a wide range of specializations for students to focus their studies, such as concentrations in health and medical informatics, digital forensics, IT project management, or information assurance and security. Some of these degree programs may give students the option of completing a hands-on internship or field study seminar and/or require students to complete a capstone experience in addition to the common courses discussed below.
Students in security management courses examine concepts in network security and learn how to keep their organization's data safe from a variety of threats. Students may also discuss security policies and laws, as well as topics in identity management and access control. These courses help students practice evaluating security management techniques and testing preventative measures. Other subjects for these courses may include cryptography, computer forensics, data loss prevention, recovery planning, compliance, and application security.
Courses in project management help prepare IT professionals for project demands in the field. Students in these courses work to further develop their communication skills, decision-making skills, and ability to identify criteria for measuring success on a project. Admittance Requirements for Master's in Information Technology Programs with No GRE Requirement

Other admission requirements for IT master's degree programs vary by school, but applicants typically need to hold at least a bachelor's degree. In addition to a bachelor's or master's degree, some schools may require applicants to meet at least one additional education requirement, such as work experience, Project Management Professional certification, an undergraduate IT certificate, or other related certifications in the field. If they meet program requirements, students may then need to submit the appropriate application along with any required application fees and materials.
