Online Master's Degrees in Finance with No GMAT Requirement

Students who want to earn a master's degree in finance without taking the GMAT have several options available. Read on for examples of schools that do not include this test in their admissions process.

Pace University

Pace has a Master of Finance for Professionals degree program that is specifically tailored to fit the needs of those who are already working in the business or financial sectors, with online courses and weekend residencies that provide a well-rounded education without conflicting with work schedules. The program, which has no GMAT requirement, features courses in essential topics such as financial statement analysis, fixed income analysis, behavioral finance, and cryptocurrency.

Texas A&M University-Commerce

The Master of Science in Finance program at Texas A&M University-Commerce consists of 30 credit hours of coursework in concepts such as financial management, international business, and applied business research and students have the option to pursue a multidisciplinary degree by choosing an optional minor in cybersecurity, agribusiness, marketing, and more. Prospective students with an undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0 will have the school's GMAT requirement waived.

Franklin University

The Master of Science in Accounting at Franklin waives the GMAT requirement for any applicant with a GPA of at least 2.75 and introduces students to topics in auditing, data mining, and estate taxes. The program features two pathways in taxation and financial operations and prepares graduates for careers as controllers, chief financial officers, and accounting managers.

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater

UWW features an online Master of Science in Finance with 30 credits in common financial subjects like capital budgeting, portfolio management, business valuation, and multinational finance. The program aligns closely with the skills needed to obtain the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) credential and any applicant with a GPA of 2.75 or above can automatically waive the GMAT requirement.

Boston University

Another option for candidates who want a master's degree but don't want to sit for the GMAT is the online Master of Science in Financial Management degree at BU, which does not have any test requirements and boasts a pair of concentrations in international finance and investment analysis. The program is ideal for students who want to move into the financial management and corporate finance fields, as it contains coursework in investments, derivatives, and the global financial regulatory environment.

The University of Scranton

Scranton's Master of Science in Finance contains 30 credits and a fully asynchronous course schedule that allows candidates to finish the program in as little as 12 months. The program waives the GMAT requirement for any candidate who has either the CFA credential or three years' worth of relevant work experience; these students will need to complete a case study project after admission.

The University of Maryland Global Campus
