Online MSN Programs in Georgia

There are multiple schools in Georgia that offer online Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) programs, many of which allow students to choose an area of concentration within their MSN curriculum. Read more below.

Albany State University

Albany State University has a fully-online MSN program available to registered nurses with a BSN as well as registered nurses with an associate's degree in nursing (bridge courses will apply for RN to MSN candidates). Students can complete the program in 2 to 3 years and choose either the family nurse practitioner track or the nurse educator track to prepare them for advanced nursing through primary care, training, and leadership.

Clayton State University

Registered nurses who have completed a BSN program can earn a Master of Science in Nursing through Clayton State University, which requires applicants to have a 3.0 GPA and a qualifying GRE score, but may waive the GRE requirement if applicants have a higher GPA, additional certifications, or at least three years of qualifying experience. The MSN program can be completed in two years, has a focus in family nurse practitioner, and consists of 47 credit hours completed completely online with 585 hours of on-site clinical practice.

Columbus State University

Columbus State University has an MSN program available to registered nurses who have completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, which consists of a fully-online curriculum and clinical practicum at sites convenient to students. Students can complete the 44-hour nurse practitioner track with instruction on women's, adult, elderly, and pediatric health, or a 36-hour track specializing in nurse leadership, nurse informatics, or nurse educator; all programs can be completed in two years of full-time study.

Georgia College & State University

At Georgia College & State University, students with a BSN and a current RN license can earn an MSN online in six semesters. Students can choose one of the following concentration tracks within the MSN program based on their career interests: nurse midwifery, nurse educator, women's health nurse practitioner, family nurse practitioner, or psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner.

Georgia Southern University

Georgia Southern University offers two online MSN tracks to registered nurses with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Students can choose the chronic care management track which takes as little as one year and prepares them for chronic care management and evaluation across all ages, or they can choose the nursing education track which takes around two years and prepares graduates for careers in educating future nurses.

Georgia Southwestern State University

Individuals with a valid RN license and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing can earn a Master of Science in Nursing through Georgia Southwestern State University's online two-year MSN program. Students can choose any one of the following concentration areas for their MSN curriculum: nursing education (36 credit hours), nursing leadership/management (36 credit hours), nursing informatics (36 credit hours), or family nurse practitioner (44 credit hours).

Kennesaw State University

At Kennesaw State University, students can earn a Master of Science in Nursing in Advanced Care Management & Leadership in as little as 15 months. The program consists of 40 credits of online instruction and is available to licensed RNs with a bachelor's degree in nursing with at least a 3.0 GPA.

Middle Georgia State University

Middle Georgia State University has a Master of Science in Nursing program available to registered nurses with at least one year of work experience and a BSN. The program is built to be completed in five semesters of online instruction with two one-day immersive sessions each semester and has a concentration in adult/gerontology acute care nurse practitioner.

University of North Georgia

Registered nurses who have completed a BSN program can earn a Master of Science in Nursing Education (MSNE) through a 35-hour online program at the University of North Georgia in as little as two years. The program prepares experienced nurses for careers in nursing education through instruction on nursing practices, curriculum development, teaching strategies, and leadership.

University of West Georgia

The University of West Georgia has an online MSN program that can be completed in two years and requires entering students to have a valid RN license and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Within the 36-credit-hour program, students will learn critical thinking skills, evidence-based practices, and can choose to concentrate their MSN in either health systems leadership or education.
