Continue reading below to learn more details about the various programs. Schools offering Nursing degrees can also be found in these popular choices.

Lamar University

Registered nurses who have a diploma or an associate's degree in nursing can earn a BSN and an MSN simultaneously through Lamar University's RN to MSN program. Depending on transfer credits, students will complete 28 to 120 undergraduate credit hours and 37 graduate credit hours. The program is offered online with on-site practicum experiences, and can be concentrated in nursing administration or nursing education.

Lubbock Christian University

At Lubbock Christian University, registered nurses with a bachelor's degree can pursue a Master of Science in Nursing by completing 35 to 46 credit hours. BSN candidates are preferred, but candidates with qualifying experience are also considered for admission. The program is offered primarily online, excluding clinical practicums and meetings, and allows students to choose one of two concentration options.

Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi

Texas A&M University at Corpus Christi offers two alternative routes to the MSN for registered nurses who haven't earned a BSN: RNs who have an associate's degree in nursing can take the RN-MSN route (21 credit hours) while RNs who have an associate's degree in nursing and a non-nursing bachelor's degree can take the RN-Bridge program route (18 credit hours). Once the undergraduate requirements have been completed, students can move onto the MSN portion (37 to 49 credit hours) and specialize their curriculum in one of three areas. Most program requirements are available online (excluding clinical components), and interested students can add a second MSN concentration in nursing administrator (12 credit hours) or nursing educator (13 credit hours).

Texas Woman's University

Registered nurses who have an associate's degree or diploma in nursing can simultaneously earn a BSN and an MSN through Texas Woman's University's RN to MSN program (32 to 33 credit hours), and RNs who have a non-nursing bachelor's degree can earn their MSN through the post-baccalaureate RN to MSN bridge program (20 to 21 credit hours). Several of the undergraduate/bridge courses are applied towards the MSN requirements, and programs are completed primarily online with some clinical requirements. Students can concentrate their Master of Science in Nursing in one of several areas such as education or nurse practitioner (NP) and will be required to complete 29 to 35 credit hours of concentration-specific courses.

The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston has an RN to MSN program that enables registered nurses with an associate's degree in nursing to earn a Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration in family nurse practitioner (54 credit hours) or nursing leadership (46 credit hours). The MSN program provides online instruction but may require students to attend campus meetings as well as clinical practicums.

The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley

Registered nurses who have an associate's degree in nursing or a bachelor's degree in a field outside of nursing can pursue their Master of Science in Nursing by first completing a 6-credit-hour bridge course through The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley's RN to MSN program. With programs offered primarily online, students can concentrate their curriculum in nursing administration (36 credit hours) or nursing education (36 credit hours).

University of the Incarnate Word

The program consists of full-online undergraduate courses and a hybrid MSN program that consists of online instruction, semi-monthly campus meetings, and on-site clinical experiences. Depending on transfer credits, students may complete as few as 9 credit hours of BSN coursework before moving onto 31 credit hours of graduate courses.

West Texas A&M University

The accelerated RN to BSN/MSN program allows registered nurses with a nursing diploma or associate's degree in nursing to earn both a BSN and an MSN simultaneously through an online program.
