Ph.D. in Neuropsychology: An Overview

Most of the Ph.D. programs in neuropsychology are focused on clinical neuropsychology, which focuses on the diagnosis of problems with the human nervous system and human behavior. Neuroanatomy deals with the structure of the human nervous system and its components, like the brain, spinal cord, and the nerves. It delves into the two major divisions of the human nervous system, the central nervous system and the peripheral nervous system, and examines the organization, distribution, and functioning of their components. The course describes how each component in the nervous system functions collaboratively for the flow of stimuli in the body. Neuropharmacology studies the effects of drugs on the human nervous system. It examines the molecular mechanisms behind the action of medications such as antidepressants, anesthetics, and stimulants on the nervous system. It also discusses common neurological diseases and the techniques used for neuropharmacological research.


Neuropsychology studies the influence of the nervous system on human behavior and psychology. It seeks to understand the relationship between behavior and the brain through evidence-based interventions. It also deals with the connection between brain disorders and psychological issues. The course might also focus on the scientific techniques and methods used in neuropsychological evaluation.

Cognitive Neuroscience

Cognitive neuroscience focuses on the links between cognition and neural processes.
