Florida State University

Individuals that choose to attend Florida State University can earn a PhD degree in social work after around four years of attendance. Barry University

Admissions Requirements: PhD in Social Work Programs in Florida

Students who want to attend a PhD program in social work in the state of Florida will need to already have a master's degree, preferably in the field of social work. Applicants should also have a minimum GPA of a 3.0 in both their undergraduate coursework and their graduate coursework, though some schools may require applicants to hold a 3.5 GPA in their previous graduate level coursework. Students applying to a PhD program in social work in this state might also need to take the GRE and have their scores sent to the schools that they will be applying to, and the test needs to be taken within the five years prior to the date of application. However, some schools do not require GRE scores. Lastly, colleges and universities may require other items such as official transcripts, letters of reference, samples of a student's writing, or a personal statement.
