Positions center on areas ranging from adult disorders to child psychology, and the programs are conducted together with hospitals and health centers, such as the Irving Medical Center and the New York Presbyterian Hospital. The programs vary depending on the specialization but, typically, a fellow is expected to participate in weekly supervisions, case conferences, professional development seminars, clinical outreach, and grand rounds.

The programs can be completed in 1-2 years, within which fellows gain experience in conducting assessments, developing programs, providing clinical care, participating in clinical research studies, and even filling administrative roles.
Fellowships are available at Pace University's Counseling Center, which offers a program centered on the role of psychologists in a university and aims to produce practitioners adept in three aspects: skill, self-awareness, and scholarship.
