RN to MSN Online Programs in Florida

RN to MSN programs are available online through several schools in Florida and enable registered nurses without a BSN to pursue a Master of Science in Nursing. AdventHealth University

At AdventHealth University, registered nurses with an associate's degree in nursing can earn a Master of Science in Nursing online through the bridge and MSN program. Students will complete 11 trimester credit hours of bridge courses at the beginning of their program. The MSN coursework will have clinical practicum (on-site) experiences and can be concentrated in nurse administrator & leadership (32 credit hours), nurse educator (32 credit hours), or family nurse practitioner (37 credit hours).

Florida Gulf Coast University

Florida Gulf Coast University has an RN to MSN program for registered nurses who have an associate's degree in nursing. Students are required to complete 22 credit hours of undergraduate coursework and 38 credit hours of graduate coursework in pursuit of their Master of Science in Nursing with a nurse educator concentration. Courses can be completed online, but students may be required to attend campus meetings each semester.

Jacksonville University

Registered nurses who have completed a diploma or associate's degree in nursing can earn a BSN and an MSN simultaneously through the RN to MSN program at Jacksonville University. The program's 8-week courses are offered online with some clinical on-site practicum requirements. The undergraduate coursework consists of 22 credit hours, and the MSN can be concentrated in clinical nurse educator (33 credit hours), informatics (30 credit hours), or leadership in healthcare systems (30 credit hours).

Nova Southeastern University

Registered nurses who have a bachelor's degree in a non-nursing field can pursue their Master of Science in Nursing at Nova Southeaster University upon completing a required bridge course (6 credit hours). Students will take courses online and can concentrate their MSN in adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner (51 credit hours), executive nurse leadership (36 credit hours), family nurse practitioner (51 credit hours), nursing education (36 credit hours), nursing informatics (36 credit hours), or psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner (51 credit hours).

Palm Beach Atlantic University

Nurses with either an associate's degree in nursing (ADN or AA) can earn both a BSN and an MSN through Palm Beach Atlantic University's RN to MSN program. The program has a health systems leadership focus and is completed primarily online with monthly in-class sessions and MSN clinical practicum experiences. Nurses with an ADN will complete a total of 73 to 76 credit hours while nurses with an AA will complete a total of 59 to 62 credit hours.

The University of West Florida

The University of West Florida has an accelerated BSN/MSN program for registered nurses who have earned an Associate of Arts, Associate of Science in Nursing, or an equivalent, as well as nurses who are in the process of completing general education requirements. Students will complete at least 12 credit hours of undergraduate coursework (which also counts towards the MSN) and 27 credit hours of graduate courses. The program's coursework is entirely online but does consist of on-site clinical requirements, and the Master of Science in Nursing can be focused in either nurse executive or nursing education.

University of Central Florida

Registered nurses who have an associate's degree or diploma in nursing along with a non-nursing bachelor's degree can earn a Master of Science in Nursing through University of Central Florida. Students are required to complete 3 courses (9 credit hours) as a bridge before continuing onto the MSN curriculum. The program is offered fully online (excluding clinical practicum) and can be specialized in family nurse and health care simulation (31 credit hours), nurse educator (35 credit hours), or nursing leadership and management (36 credit hours),.

University of South Florida - Main Campus

Registered nurses who have a bachelor's degree in a non-nursing field can earn a Master of Science in Nursing through University of South Florida's RN to MSN track. Many courses are offered online, but students may be required to attended labs, didactics, and clinicals on site. Students will complete 15 to 18 credit hours of bridge coursework before moving onto the MSN component which can be concentrated in adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner (48 credit hours), adult-gerontology primary care nurse practitioner (45 credit hours), family nurse practitioner (52 credit hours), nursing education (40 credit hours), occupational health/adult-gerontology primary care (61 credit hours), or pediatric nurse practitioner (45 credit hours).

Interested students can also earn a dual degree of MSN/MPH (Master of Public Health) with a concentration in occupational health ad adult-gerontology primary care (82 credit hours) after completing their undergraduate bridge coursework.
