Careers in Cardiovascular Technology

Cardiovascular technicians help to operate and maintain the instruments, technologies and diagnostic equipment used by cardiologists in the diagnosis and treatment of heart diseases. Cardiovascular technicians generally complete a specialized career training program or an associate's degree in which they study the technologies used in the workplace, including EKG machines, arthroscopic cameras, angioplasty equipment and more. Most graduates go on to work in urgent care centers in large hospitals that specialize in cardiovascular surgery and treatments.
