The reported earnings for artists from Salary.com cited the median annual salary at $49,121 as of November 2015. The salary range for artists in the 10th-90th percentile was $34,893 to $63,854. These figures included only the base pay.

The BLS predicts that the employment of all artists and related workers could grow by about four percent between 2012 and 2022. Multimedia artists and animators will see the most employment growth in the field, with available positions projected to increase by over six percent from 2012 to 2022, per the BLS.
