There are no degree programs available for aspiring medical assistants in the Las Vegas area, but certificate programs in this field are available. At least two four-year, public schools in the area offer programs leading to certificates: on in medical office assisting and one in medical assisting that provides both administrative and clinical training. Depending on the program, completion may require six months to one year for full-time students. The medical office assisting program is designed to be flexible, allowing students to choose a curriculum schedule that meets their needs.
