Eckerd College

This midsize private school is located on 188 acres of waterfront property along Florida's Gulf Coast. This location is ideal for the college's program in marine science, which allows students to specialize in marine biology, chemistry, geology or geophysics. The college also has one of the largest water sports programs among southeastern U.S. colleges, with access to canoes and sea kayaks, sailboards and sailboats, and power boats that students can use for fishing and water skiing. Additionally, the college is home to South Beach, which plays host to a number of recreational activities for students and features two sand volleyball courts and a full-size soccer field.

California State University Long Beach

You can't get much closer to the beach than this 322-acre campus, which faces the Pacific Ocean. Students even refer to campus as 'The Beach.' California State University Long Beach (CSU-LB), based in California's fifth largest city, offers athletic and artistic opportunities, including multiple men's and women's sports teams and an on-campus art museum, plus nightly live performances in the university's seven theaters. More than 37,000 students attend the Long Beach campus, which has been named one of America's Best Value Colleges by the Princeton Review.

The University of Hawaii at Manoa

As the flagship of the University of Hawaii (UH) system, the Manoa campus is located in the island of O'ahu's Mānoa valley. Famous Waikiki Beach is about two miles away, and downtown Honolulu, the state capital, is just a 4-mile trek. UH Manoa is home to Hawaii's only law and medical schools, in addition over 200 other degree programs. Even with more than 18,000 students enrolled, UH Manoa maintains small class sizes, averaging just 20 students per class.
