ASAPM creates awareness of the profession on a national level and provides industry publications, recognition and certification, in addition to networking opportunities for project management professionals across the country and globally.

ASAPM markets itself as part of The International Project Management Association (IPMA). IPMA-USA offers four levels of certification, each with its own experience-related prerequisites.
