The length of time that you've worked as a Web developer may greatly influence your earnings. PayScale.com reported in September 2015 that Web developers with less than five years of experience earned $35,074-$74,575 annually. Those with 5-10 years of experience earned a yearly wage of $41,715-$87,187, and those with 10-20 years of experience made an annual income of $45,893-$96,612. Those with over 20 years of experience usually earned between $51,756 and $102,915 yearly.

Salary by Location

The BLS reports that Washington provided the highest mean annual salary at $82,420 as of May 2014. Delaware, California and Virginia were also high-paying states, and all three regions offered mean wages over $75,000 per year. The locations that had the highest concentrations of Web developers were the District of Columbia, Washington, Vermont, Utah and Oregon; Web developers in all five states earned mean salaries ranging from $58,490 to $82,420.
