Due to the clinical experience requirements, no programs leading to initial certification can be offered entirely online. University of Missouri
Students can take the radiography bachelor's degree completion program entirely online through the University of Missouri's continuing and distance education program. Since this online radiography program is designed for practicing radiologic technologists who hold an associate's degree or certificate, participants are already well-versed in the hands-on clinical components of radiography. This program includes courses in radiologic pharmacology, MRI procedures and computed tomography (CT) procedures.
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign offers online courses in radiography as part of its continuing education program for veterinarians and veterinary technicians. This program contains six modules encompassing just over 14 credit hours. Course topics include radiographic image production, abdominal radiology, spine radiology, thoracic radiology, musculoskeletal radiology and concepts of radiation.
Riverland Community College
Riverland Community College in Minnesota offers several online courses in radiography. In addition to introductory courses in radiography, the curriculum for this 2-year program includes courses in imaging technology, radiography procedures, clinical radiography and radiation equipment.
While all clinical courses in radiography must be conducted live, Broward College in Florida allows lectures and laboratory courses to be taken online. Coursework includes radiographic anatomy, radiation pathology and radiography equipment. Students receive an Associate of Applied Science in Radiography upon completion of this program.
