In addition to its Doctor of Medicine (MD) program, Central Michigan University offers a dual MD/MBA (Master of Business Administration) degree and features research facilities housed on both its campuses in Saginaw and Mount Pleasant, Michigan. The Doctor of Medicine program at CMU has a specific mission to train culturally knowledgeable physicians that can address the state's medically underserved populations as well as improve the quality of health beyond the state of Michigan.

Michigan State University College of Human Medicine

Michigan State University's College of Human Medicine is spread across seven campuses, with three main campus communities in Flint, Lansing, and Grand Rapids. Along with its Doctor of Medicine program, MSU offers three dual degree programs: MD/MBA, MD/PhD (Doctor of Philosophy), and MD/MPH (Master of Public Health).

Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine

Michigan State University's College of Osteopathic Medicine is spread across three campuses in East Lansing, Detroit, and Macomb. It offers a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree to students interested in learning to treat the whole patient by focusing on lifestyle and environmental connections to health as well as the promotion of the body's ability to heal itself. The university also offers three dual degree programs: DO/MBA, DO/PhD, and DO/MPH.

Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine

Oakland University's William Beaumont School of Medicine offers MD students clinical skills and training primarily at its own clinical site in Rochester, MI. Along with its academic and clinical training, OU also has a required program called Embark that provides MD students with a mentored introduction to research design, compliance training, and academic presentation.

University of Michigan Medical School

Located in Ann Arbor, the University of Michigan's Medical School offers students cross-collaborative research and educational opportunities that include the university's School of Public Health and College of Engineering. The school offers an MD program as well as an MD/PhD program and access to 14 related PhD programs.

Wayne State University School of Medicine

Students receiving an MD education at Wayne State University have the opportunity to participate in community outreach programs within the city of Detroit and take advantage of hospital partnerships with Detroit Medical Center and Henry Ford Health System. They can also benefit from volunteer opportunities that provide patient care for the homeless and other patients at free clinics throughout Detroit or mentorship to school children, among several other volunteer possibilities.

Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine

Located in Kalamazoo, MI, WMU's school of medicine offers a Doctor of Medicine program as well as two dual degree programs and three master's degree programs: MD/PhD and MD/MBA, Master of Science in Medical Engineering, Master of Science in Clinical Informatics, and Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences. To advance their clinical and research skills, students have access to simulation centers at the W.E. Upjohn M.D. Campus and the Borgess Medical Center.
