Students in Wayne State University's MPA program can choose from 6 specializations including nonprofit policy and management, organizational behavior and management, and economic development policy and management. Central Michigan University

Central Michigan University's MPA program offers students the chance to study public finance, grant writing and leadership. Northern Michigan University

Oakland University

Oakland University's MPA program allows students to choose from five specializations including court administration, criminal justice leadership, and local government management. The program allows for participants without an undergraduate degree to complete the 'B.S.+1 Program' in which participants can complete their MPA in one year after graduating with a B.S. in Public Administration from the university.

University of Michigan - Flint

The University of Michigan-Flint's MPA program allows students to choose from a variety of specializations including education administration and social and public policy. The program stresses its interdisciplinary nature and allows for students to choose from a wide variety of courses.

University of Michigan-Dearborn

The University of Michigan-Dearborn's MPA program is geared towards working administrators and stresses practical skills and information that one can use in the workplace. Unlike many other MPA programs, the MPA program at the University of Michigan-Dearborn does not require students to complete a capstone course and requires students to take one pre-approved specialty course.

Western Michigan University

Western Michigan University's MPA program is open to both working professionals and pre-career students. Admittance Requirements for MPA Programs

An undergraduate degree in any subject is a major requirement for admission. Applicants must typically send transcripts from all previous colleges attended to the university. Certain programs also require an applicant to take the GRE or GMAT and have a minimum GPA in undergraduate coursework. At least two reference letters from individuals who are familiar with the applicant's academic competence, a writing sample (usually a research paper), and a personal statement describing the applicant's career goals should also be sent as a part of the application.
