Enrollment Process

The first thing a student needs to do is to select the location that is the best fit for the student. Though a visit isn't required, it is highly encouraged so that the student can get a feel for the school and make sure it is the right one for him or her.

If the student wants, an open house or an individualized tour can be arranged. Next, the student has to go online and apply to the location of his or her choice and pay an enrollment fee of $100. Once the application has been reviewed, the school will send out an envelope with more information, including information about orientation and classes.

Financial Aid

To determine financial aid at the Art Institutes, the student must meet with a financial officer to help determine his or her eligibility. First, the officer estimates the total cost of tuition, supplies, food, transportation and housing. Next, he or she helps the student determine all the resources that the student is eligible for to pay for the costs, including state aid, private loans, federal grants, loans and so on. The difference between the eligible resources and the total cost of education is what's left, and that amount can be covered through the student financial planning process.

Career and Job Placement Services

Each Art Institutes school has its own career services staff to help students transition from school to the workforce. Each school offers advisors to help with resumes, interviewing, networking and portfolio presentation, as well as search assistance for students seeking full-time or part-time work. The career services also offer quarterly portfolio reviews, where employers can come in and view the work of recent graduates.
