Kaplan College- San Antonio, formerly known as Texas Careers, was founded in 1989 as Modencare, Inc. Originally, the only diploma program offered was a for certified nurse aides. Since then, the school has grown to include more than ten programs of study at a total of four campuses. Satellite locations are open in Laredo, Beaumont and Lubbock. The Council on Occupation Education accredits Texas Careers.

In addition to career-planning and assessments, the Career Services staff also teaches students how to write effective resumes and perform well during job interviews. Additionally, staff members can help students and graduates search for open positions using the newspaper and online tools. Students who need help finding part-time employment while still in school may seek assistance through the department. </p> <p>Based on reports by College Board, the average total cost at Kaplan College-San Antonio in 2012-2013 came to $15,424, which is 5,329 higher than the average of $10,550. According to the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), the most popular program for associate's degree recipients in 2011-2012 was information technology. The top program for students who attained a certificate was medical clinic assistant. Admissions representatives are available to assist prospective students with the enrollment process. Candidates for the paralegal and vocational nursing programs must take the appropriate entrance exams, prior to being accepted. Transfer students will need to submit transcripts from their current institution. </p> <p>If you want to receive financial aid at Kaplan College-San Antonio, students must fill out and submit the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).
