All EdD students take advanced core courses in scholarly writing, research design, and measurement, and then are able to focus their studies through specialization courses. The nursing education specialization courses cover foundational topics in nursing education as well as the evolving role of the nurse educator and current and future regulatory, ethical, and political challenges. Other courses cover assessment and evaluation methods, evidence-based andragogic practices used in nursing education, and current technology tools used in both classroom and clinical teaching. In addition, you'll need to complete a dissertation on an original nursing education topic. </p> <h3 id="section---WhatAreThePrerequisites">What Are the Prerequisites?</h3> <p>As an applicant to this NCU program, you must already have a master's degree in nursing (or a closely related field) and a current RN license.
