    <h3 id="section---WhatKindOfProgramIsIt">What Kind of Program Is It?</h3> <p>The Collision Repair and Refinishing Technology Program offered by Universal Technical Institute is a hands-on program designed to provide you with an understanding of structural and non-structural auto body repair and refinishing. You can also take classes in estimating, welding, custom paint jobs, and electrical repair. This program is accredited by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF), a division of the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE), and the curriculum is designed to prepare you for ASE certification testing in structural repair, non-structural repair, painting and refinishing, and mechanical and electrical repair. You will also be prepared for the Axalta refinishing, 3M plastics repair, and Chief Automotive measuring and straightening systems manufacturer certification exams. The program meets current standards of I-CAR, and you can earn several I-CAR credentials upon successful completion of the program. </p> <h3 id="section---WhatAreThePrerequisites">What Are the Prerequisites?</h3> <p>Before you enroll in a Universal Technical Institute program, you must have a high school diploma or GED.
