About Pepperdine University

Pepperdine University opened in 1937 as George Pepperdine College. In 1981, its Psychology Division merged with the School of Education to become the Graduate School of Education and Psychology, or GSEP as it is commonly referred to. GSEP offered its first digital learning program in 1992 and today offers three online master's degree programs: the Master of Arts in Psychology, the Master of Science in Behavioral Psychology, and the Master of Science in Clinical Psychology with an Emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. The online psychology programs at Pepperdine are collectively referred to as OnlinePsychology@Pepperdine.

Pepperdine University's online Master of Arts in Psychology program provides a broad understanding of human behavior and practical knowledge of how psychological concepts can be applied within various professional settings. The online MA in Psychology program, which takes 18 months to complete, is open to all undergraduate majors who want to learn how to assess personality and intelligence and understand mental and emotional disorders.

The curriculum prepares graduates to pursue doctoral study or a career in the psychology field. Typical course topics include the diagnosis and treatment of mental health disorders, counseling theories, psychotherapy techniques, and clinical interventions.
